In November 2008 we held our first get together, our fall barbecue. At the event, the multitude of people that had gathered enjoyed talking about what was going on in their lives, discussing fun times, and playing Catch Phrase.

Then in April of 2009 a group of us visited the Kansas Underground Salt Museum in Hutchinson, KS, where we not only toured the museum's grounds located 650 feet below the earth's surface, but attended a murder mystery dinner held there.

Our Annual Weekend Adventure

At the end of July 2009 we held our first retreat, which was a huge success. A great time was had by all and some of the events that were held included an Amazing Race inspired scavenger hunt, a talent show and dance, and even some day spa like treatments during the afternoon. The weekend concluded with an inspiring and humorous guest speaker. Year two offered more of the same, but included an extra day of excitement.

Some More Fun

In November of 2009 a number of Fuse Foundation participants and volunteers, along with some family members got together to see the Broadway musical Wicked held at the Century II Concert Hall in Wichita. Everyone was able to catch up with one another by going to dinner before hand and then enjoyed an evening of spectacular entertainment.

Other events that were held included attending the Winter Jam concert and two Wichita Wild indoor football games, one in 2010 and one in 2011. There has also been several informational meetings held, one on some of the latest respiratory products, another on accessible computer access solutions and another on an adult stem cell treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy,  where three boys who had received the treatment shared their experiences from it.
